VOX Telehealth Introducing OrthoCare Program

Jan 9, 2013

January 9, 2013, Pennington, NJ – VOX Telehealth™, a leader in the development of pro-active, procedure-specific mobile health applications, announced today that the development of its OrthoCare Program will be ready for rollout during the spring of 2013.

Though Total Joint Replacement procedures have seen significant growth in the past decade, improvements in technology, an aging population and the demand for a higher level of activity amongst the baby boom generation will drive a 300% growth in procedures over the next 20 years, according to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

“Representing one of Medicare’s largest expenditures, we look forward to making a significant impact by addressing the current inefficiencies caused by a lack of patient education and connectivity between patient and provider,” said David Brown, CEO of VOX Telehealth.

In addressing pre-procedural education and preparation as well as post-procedural patient recovery and reintegration, VOX Telehealth’s model begins well before the procedure in order that potential risks can be uncovered and the patient can be fully prepared for their surgery and personal recovery. For two months following the procedure, patients will further benefit from ongoing engagement and 24/7 clinical monitoring throughout their customized recovery plan.

“Using a proven technology platform, we will engage the patient on a daily basis with content and clinical care that has demonstrated great improvements in key metrics such as patient satisfaction, compliance, direct-to-home discharge rates and readmissions,” stated Rob Peterson, Director of VOX OrthoCare.
